Scorecard Elements

DEFINING SCORECARD ELEMENTS

Ownership

Measures an entity’s economic interest, voting rights and net value of shares held by black people.

Management Control

Measures the percentage of executive boards, senior, middle and junior management positions held by black people in the entity’s day to day operation.

Skills Development

The investment in skills development initiatives, apprenticeships and bursaries for black people, including the youth and people with disabilities Bonus points are awarded when those who are not employees are absorbed in the company

Enterprise and Supplier Development

This element measures the level of preferential procurement, enterprise development, and supplier development with the aim of strengthening local procurement, enhancing local supplier development programmes and increasing financial support towards black entities.

Socio-Economic Development:

Monetary or non-monetary contributions made to individuals or communities where at least 75% of the beneficiaries are black.
